Terms of Use
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and FairHome LLC ("FairHome") that applies when you use the FairHome website and tools. Please read them. By using FairHome you agree to them.
What FairHome provides
FairHome brings together available property information, evaluates what it shows and provides tools that can help you understand assessments, exemptions, comparables, appeal-related information and supported changes to a property over time. It also includes tools for home maintenance records and utility bills.
Available information and tools vary by jurisdiction. FairHome is not a government agency and has no authority over assessments, exemptions, appeals or tax bills.
Informational service, no guaranteed outcome
FairHome results, analyses, calculations and estimates are informational. They do not guarantee an assessment reduction, exemption approval, appeal outcome, tax savings or utility savings, and they are not legal, tax or financial advice. FairHome is not a law firm.
You remain responsible for reviewing official requirements and deciding whether to appeal, claim an exemption, submit evidence or take any other action. Unless a feature says otherwise, FairHome prepares materials and you decide whether to file them. Confirm deadlines and filing windows with the official source.
FairHome AI
FairHome AI writes its answers using artificial intelligence, FairHome's documents and information your account can already see. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong, and like the rest of FairHome they are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice.
The assistant cannot file, submit, pay, sign or change anything for you, and it does not contact counties, utilities or anyone else. Each plan can limit how many messages you send per day. Do not use the assistant to break these terms, to try to make it ignore its rules, or to try to reach information that is not yours.
Public information and ownership
Being able to look up or save public property information does not mean FairHome has verified that you own the property or may act for it. FairHome may require extra verification before actions that depend on ownership or authorization.
When you save a property or prepare a filing for it, you confirm that you own it or are authorized to act for the owner.
Accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding agreement. Give accurate information, keep it current, and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, so tell us promptly at privacy@gofairhome.com if you think it has been used without your permission.
You can close your account from your settings. What happens to your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
Your content
You keep ownership of the documents, photos, records and other content you provide. You give FairHome a limited license to store, process, analyze and display it, and to prepare materials from it, only as needed to provide the service to you.
You confirm that you have the right to provide your content and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. Information you provide may be used in documents you choose to send to a county office or utility, so make sure it is accurate.
Utilities and outside data
FairHome relies in part on government records and on utilities and other outside services that FairHome does not control. That information can be late, incomplete or wrong, and FairHome may report a value as unavailable instead of guessing.
When you connect a utility, you authorize FairHome to receive the data you approve, and the utility's own terms also apply. You can revoke the connection at any time in FairHome or at the utility. FairHome does not own government records, and nothing in these terms limits how public records may be used.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse FairHome. This includes: using someone else's account or property without permission, giving false information, trying to access areas or data you are not allowed to, interfering with or overloading the service, probing for weaknesses without our written permission, breaking the law, and using automated tools to collect or copy FairHome's content, analyses or data in bulk or to resell or republish them.
This does not restrict your right to use public government records from their official sources.
Plans and fees
FairHome offers a free plan and may offer paid plans later. Free plans can have limits, such as the number of properties, the number of assistant messages per day or the history shown. If paid plans are offered, the price, billing interval, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown to you before you buy, and you will not be charged unless you agree.
Availability and changes
FairHome depends partly on outside sources and services that can change or become unavailable. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we aim to give notice of major changes when we can. We do not promise that the service will always be available or error free.
Ownership of FairHome
FairHome and its licensors own the service, software, design, analyses and trademarks. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use FairHome under these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
Disclaimers
FairHome is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, FairHome disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
Limit on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, FairHome and its members, managers, employees and providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings, data or opportunities, including a missed deadline or an appeal that does not succeed.
Our total liability for any claim relating to FairHome is limited to the greater of the amount you paid FairHome in the 12 months before the claim or 100 US dollars. Some laws do not allow these limits, and in that case they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your responsibility
You agree to cover losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, from third-party claims that come from your content or from your breach of these terms or misuse of FairHome, to the extent the law allows.
Ending these terms
You may stop using FairHome at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your use puts the service or others at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as content rights, disclaimers, limits on liability and the law that governs these terms, continue after your access ends.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we cannot resolve informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you and FairHome agree to their jurisdiction.
Before starting a claim, please contact privacy@gofairhome.com so we can try to resolve it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will tell you by email or in the app. If you keep using FairHome after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
